More on Hoops and Founder Iesha Goree

Philanthropist, mentor, and local social butterfly Iesha Gorre is best known for her dedication to eradicating hunger in DFW’s most at-risk areas. As founder of the Amadi Guess Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide children from underserved communities access to nutritious meals, Goree spends most of her time partnering with corporations to provide food to low income youth. Her tireless acts of community service started years ago, feeding just 50 children from her home kitchen. Today, the Amadi Guess Foundation has more than forty active feeding stations throughout Texas and has served over 4 million meals.

With the foundation on pace to provide a record number of meals in 2015, social entrepreneurship has become a high priority for Goree, and this time she’s not leaving out the adults. Being no stranger to food service, it makes sense that her first foray into hospitality comes in the form of an upscale, adult concept sports bar and lounge in Carrollton. Scheduled to open in January, Hoops is a hotspot for all sports fans catering to men, women, young, old, singles and couples. Complete with numerous large flat screens dedicated to sporting events from college football, NBA to UFC, Gorre has created a locale that’s conducive to every mood. Hoops features live music, dancing, arcade games, pool and a unique menu, making it fun for a full sit down dinner or a place to meet up with friends for a drink.
